AM Swim
Somehow I got up at 7 to swim. Going to bed around 9 may have helped, though I lay there awake for over an hour before I actually found sleep. At any rate, I was hardly bright eyed and bushy-tailed as I stumbled down to the cove with G's friend from Italy who is visiting this month, and met up with Ed by the cove.
Now Ed is what we call, in swimming terms, "much faster than me". This is good, because the two times I've swam with him, have been my fastest to date, and with far fewer stops. Today we did the full mile swim and while I felt calm and relaxed for most of it, I also had the nagging notion that I my arms were going to give out and I was going to sink down to the briny bottom and die. This is why swimming is so much harder for me than running. Mentally, it's just not as easy to push yourself if don't feel that, should it come to that point of exhaustion, you can't simply collapse and lie on the ground.
Maybe I need water wings.

It took me a long time to remember what water wings were. I thought they were something to make you swim faster so you wouldn't get tired. Your way makes more sense.

i think that the potential for briny bottom death would be great motivation for completing your workout.
